HIV: Get the Facts
HIV - Human Immunodeficiency Virus. It is a virus that attacks the body’s immune system.
AIDS - Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. It is a group of diseases and opportunistic infections that occur in the late stages of HIV.
Anyone can get it!
Do
•  Kiss
•  Hug
•  Breathe
•  Eat, drink, & make merry
•  Shake hands
•  Cry on a shoulder
•  Use it—the toilet
•  Slap Mosquitoes
Don't
• Make contact with these fluids:
• Blood
• Vaginal fluids
• Semen, pre-ejaculatory fluid (precum)
• Breast milk
• Have unprotected oral, anal, or vaginal sex
• Use intravenous drugs
• Stick yourself with any dirty needle
